The Court of Public Opinion...We Find The Defendant...

If the court of public opinion was a real court of law how many of you think that you would have gotten the death penalty a long time ago? It's a good thing that it's all in your mind. The court of public opinion can be very harsh MOST of the time because people usually seperate themselves and from the equation and feed off of their emotions.

We all know what Chris Brown did and trust me I do not encourage or practice hitting women but I'm sure some of you have been asking the same question that I've been asking...what was Rihanna's role in all of this? I wasn't there and I have no idea what really happened but no one has questioned her. She immediately became nothing but the victim. YES what he did was wrong but there are two sides to this story. And also what is Jay-Z's role in all of this? Why is he coming to her aid so fiercely? I mean geez is this a way to win some female fans since your album came out tuesday sept 8th(you're welcome Mr Carter by the way).

My point is this. The people who come out and want an apology from Chris Brown or Michael Vick just baffles me. Chris Brown didn't hit you and Michael Vick didn't harm your pet so why is it necessary that they give public apologies? Chris Brown should apologize to Rihanna and no one else. Michael Vick does not owe everyone in America who owns a dog an "I'm sorry".

These people are here to entertain us. They are not perfect and they are not Jesus Christ they are HUMAN. Humans mess up from time to time. The only thing people should worry about is if Chris Brown gives a good concert or has a good CD and Michael Vick should make NFL defenses look stupid every Sunday. No matter how bad the crime or what sort of lifestyle they live out side of their arenas we are not here to live in their lives just to be entertained for a little while.

A Mother's Love

There are many things in life that we cherish. A car, a house, new shoes, electronics, so on and so on. Many times we forget about the real things in life like love, friends, and family. I am guilty myself of forgetting the important things but we are all human.

Today when I woke up I had so many things on my mind. I was thinking about how to handle some of these jerks at work, what I would eat before work, and what would I be doing this weekend until my grandma said that my mom was sick.

I literally stopped in my tracks and felt my eyes watering. I started thinking about what I would do without my mother. That thought is like a dark road that I dare not proceed down. All day I thought about what is really important to me in life.

Well I must admit that I have to steal something from Terrell Owens. I recently saw the finally of the show and today what he said rang loudly throughout my day. The most important things in life are Faith, Family, and Friends.

Without God none of us would be here so that goes without saying. Family because when the world turns their back on you, family will be there. And friends because my friends are an extension of my family and even if they don't necessarily agree with me they always support me and will be there if I fall.

My mother is the most important woman in my life and I love her with all my heart. Though she and I do not agree about everything she is always there for me when I need her and that is more important than anything.

Marijuana in Maryland

NEW MARKET, Md. - Frederick County sheriff's deputies have arrested a man accused of offering marijuana to store clerks in payment for gasoline.
It allegedly happened Monday about 3 p.m. at the Classic Fuels Store on Old National Pike. Deputies said a 52-year-old man offered marijuana to pay for gasoline, and a clerk in the store called authorities.
The man and his motorcycle were searched, and deputies said they found suspected cocaine, Oxycodone pills and suspected marijuana.

I would like to know if you think marijuana should be legalized (not to pay for gas of course) and if you belive, as some do, that marijuana could save the economy? By the way, the national debt is so high that most calculators can't even fit all the numbers on the screen. Look it up!

No Arms No Service

TAMPA, Fla. – A Florida man born without arms says a Tampa bank would not let him cash a check because he couldn't provide a thumbprint.
Steve Valdez didn't have an account at a Bank of America location in downtown Tampa, where he tried to cash a check from his wife last week. However, Valdez has prosthetic arms and is unable to provide a thumbprint. He says he presented two forms of identification but was still denied.
He says a bank manager told him he could either come back to the bank with his wife or open an account himself.
Bank of America spokeswoman Nicole Nastacie says the bank has apologized to Valdez. Nastacie says the bank should have "offered alternative requirements if an individual is not able to give a thumbprint."

So exactly what the f*ck were they thinking. Did they think he cut his arms off before he got there to scam them? We have to realize that in this perfect world we live in, there are actually people here with handicaps. No matter if it's a birth defect, the result of an accident, or one of those people on world's most dangerous...we have to have alternative methods that can accommodate everyone.

What's Beef?

I was watching one of those hip hop beef documentaries on television and they came to the Nelly versus KRS-1 beef. Now from what I understand it all started because KRS-1 was appalled at Nelly's album sales and basically saying that what Nelly does isn't hip hop. Then once Nelly responded he was appalled that Nelly would show such disrespect to someone of his caliber in hip hop.

Now I'm appalled that he would take such offense at a man protecting his man hood. KRS is one of the best to ever do it but I mean who died and made KRS-1 the hip hop almighty beyond the reaches of anyone's verbal assault. Now he can have his opinion on Nelly's music but I thought it was pathetic when he started trying to reach out and tell people not to buy Nellyville. Just as he was an up and coming artist going after his hip hop elders Nelly has just as much right to return the favor.

I find it funny that when someone reaches a certain status in their career they feel like they can share their opinions and say what they want about anyone and they can't defend themselves. Just like KRS-1 is a man and will drop verbal bombs on anyone he chooses so can Nelly and anyone else who feels attacked and want to take it there. Hip hop has always been and will always be full of many different characters and any artist that doesn't like it is just a hypocrite to the very culture in which you fight for everyday.
